Kevin Rea

Director of Services

MA (Coun), MSc (ABA), MSc (SP), BSc (Soc), (SM-IACP)

Kevin is the founder and Director of Inside Out Therapy. He holds a Master’s Degree in Behavioural Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Kevin also has a Degree in Social Science, and a Master’s Degree in Social Policy. His professional qualifications and experience give him a unique ability to combine therapeutic approaches. Kevin has over twenty years professional experience in child protection, disabilities, acquired brain injuries and mental health. He has guest lectured on several Degree programmes and presents his own research at various national conferences.

While Kevin has a broad range of experience, he has a special interest in working with children with Autism, and in youth mental health. This interest led him to travel to New York where he trained in a world-famous clinic under Dr. Vincent J. Carbone, an international expert in the field of Behavioural Psychology.

Kevin’s vision is to support children of all backgrounds to overcome their individual challenges and meet their potential. Kevin understands that young people face many challenges growing up in a highly complex and digitalised society. He believes that giving children the skills and tools to understand their experience, helps them to thrive in an otherwise frantic world.

Andrea Curtin

Assistant Director of Services

BCBA, MSc (ABA), BA (SC), MISBA, MDBA

Andrea is the Assistant Director of Services at Inside Out Therapy. She is also a senior therapist and provides supervision, support, and training to the wider team. Andrea has a first-class honours Degree in Social Care and holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis. She is also a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst with the BACB and is a member of ISBA and PSI.

Andrea has been working with children and young people with Autism and related developmental delays for almost ten years. She has worked with TUSLA, the Department of Education, and a variety of private organisations, schools, and families in private settings. Andrea is an avid researcher and has published two peer-reviewed research papers.

Andrea is a qualified supervisor with the BACB and provides supervision and training to students obtaining their Master’s qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Her special interests include early intervention, adaptive living skills, sleep difficulties, mental health, and medical genetics. She also specialises in supporting families through a diagnosis of Autism and enjoys working with parents to equip them with the skills to best help their children to thrive. Andrea believes that therapy should be an enjoyable process for children. She uses a variety of play-based strategies with younger children to ensure that learning, fun, and excitement form the child’s predominant experience of therapy.

Dr. Lynda Garrett

Training & Workshop Specialist

PhD (SS), PGD (YW), PGC (PT), BA (Hons), AD (Coun)

Lynda holds a doctorate in Social Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Youth Work, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Practice Based Play Therapy. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Counselling and is a qualified Mindfulness Practitioner. Lynda has been working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds for over 23 years. She specializes in trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experiences. Lynda is an accomplished academic. She has published two academic papers, including her doctoral research which explored the impacts of bullying in educational settings. Lynda lectures at University College Cork (UCC) and is an Assessor on their Placement Assessment Board.

Lynda designs and delivers workshops and training across a range of diverse settings and groups. She provides training on emotional regulation, tools for managing anxiety, coping with stress, sexual health, coping with grief, bullying, and social media.

Lynda believes that children need to have a space where they feel secure, listened to, and valued. It is these therapeutic experiences that help children to become strong, capable, and resilient individuals.

Chloe Egan

Behaviour Therapist

MSc (ABA), BA (Psychology and English), PSI, DBA 

Chloe is a Behaviour Therapist at Inside Out Therapy. She has a first-class honours Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She is a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland and the Division of Behaviour Analysis.

Chloe has extensive experience in providing therapeutic support to children and young people. Her particular area of expertise is providing therapeutic interventions to neurodivergent individuals. Chloe has provided therapeutic support to very young children, adolescents, and adults into their 70s, which is unusual for a therapist, demonstrating the rich and broad skill base Chloe possesses within her professional repertoire.

Chloe has also worked in residential care facilities and consulted on private home-based therapy programmes. She has delivered several workshops to schools, crèches, and professional services on how best to support the behavioural, developmental, and emotional needs of young people.

Chloe believes that every child is different, and as such, each child requires something different from their therapist. She feels that therapy needs to be an enjoyable, comfortable, and safe experience where children and young people can learn and grow from their experiences.

Padraig O’ Driscoll

Trainer/Consultant

BSW (Hons) – CORU Registered Social Worker

Pádraig is a qualified Social Worker with an Honours Degree in Social Work from University College Cork. He is currently working as a Senior Manager within TUSLA’s Child Protection Services. As a Principal Social Worker, Pádraig oversees the running of a busy Social Work Department, provides professional training to his staff team, while also working directly with families and young people. Prior to his current role with TUSLA, Pádraig worked extensively with children in residential care settings. His focus here was to support and empower young people so that they could best navigate the challenges inherent in the adolescent experience.

Pádraig’s expertise lies in understanding the unique needs and concerns of teenagers, while providing them with a supportive and safe space. His principal area of interest is working with young people who are experiencing challenges with their sexuality, sexual identity, and related issues. He has used his direct experience with young people to design and deliver highly specific training courses on best practices for therapeutic intervention with adolescents.

Pádraig understands the importance of creating a safe and non-judgmental space where teenagers can openly express their feelings and concerns. His approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and a commitment to addressing the specific needs of LGBTQ+ youth. Pádraig believes that a holistic and person-centred approach has the greatest potential for positive and meaningful outcomes when working with youth.
